• Return-first policy: Your KA1/KA1s must be returned and received by Kommu before we ship your new KA2.
• If you choose installation at Kommu HQ: After checking out KA2, you’ll post your trade-in device to us using the instructions provided in your e-receipt. Please send it before your installation appointment.
• No walk-in returns on installation day: We cannot accept trade-in devices brought on the day. We require time to inspect condition; failing to return in advance forfeits the trade-in discount.
• What stays with you: Keep your existing wiring/connectors; trade-in covers the device unit only.
• Condition check: Discount is confirmed after our inspection per the trade-in policy.

KommuAssist comes with a 1-year warranty for one-off purchases, or a 3-year warranty under the rent-to-own plan. The warranty covers hardware manufacturing defects and software-related issues, but does not extend to human-caused damage (e.g., knocks, drops, improper handling & usage, car accidents) or third-party/external events such as natural disasters (typhoons, floods, lightning, etc.). Proof of purchase is required, and diagnostics will determine eligibility of warranty claim. Request for a 1-to-1 device swap will not be entertained unless deemed necessary by Kommu during diagnostics. In cases where diagnostics confirm human-caused error, the user may choose to proceed with repair upon acknowledging the repair cost. If the user decides not to proceed, Kommu will impose a workmanship fee of RM100. Paid extended warranty options may be introduced in the future.

Kommu’s Rent-to-own plan is a 3-year rental tenure where the device remains Kommu’s property.
Upon the expiry of the 3-year rental period, Customer shall continue to use the Product without rental payment to Kommu, and ownership of the Product will be transferred to the Customer. Installation happens after credit checks and payment of an Initial Deposit equal to 12 months of the Monthly Rental Fee (MRF).
A 10-day cooling-off period applies before installation; after expiry of the 3-year term, rental payments stop and Product warranty ends. The deposit is applied to the final 12 months of the 36-month term, not applicaple to early or missed payments, and—once installed—is non-refundable. Payments are via auto-debit of credit card only; if a payment fails, Kommu may retry charges, report to credit agencies, and pursue collections.
After 1 missed MRF, a 30-day reminder is issued;
after 2, features are suspended;
after 3, Kommu may repossess the product, terminate the agreement, list with a CRA, and forfeit the deposit (forfeiture also occurs 90 days after first default).
Early termination by the customer triggers a fee equal to 12 months of MRF, settled from the deposit; termination is effective upon returning the product. Customer must not modify or service the product and is liable for loss/damage and full fees of 36 months of MRF if the unit is lost; Kommu may terminate for abnormal use or 3+ months’ arrears. Credit checks (e.g., via CRA/CCRIS) and PDPA-compliant data processing apply, and all other limits, warranties, and non-return terms in the policy govern.
